Since it was founded just outside of Toronto, Canada in 1997 OE Quality Friction has been focused on being the leading manufacturer of original equipment quality disc brake pads at competitive aftermarket prices. Originally located in a small 14,000 square foot plant, the company quickly expanded to multiple manufacturing, distribution and administrative buildings in Canada to keep pace with demand. Today, OE Quality Friction announces the addition of a 118,000 square foot, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Juarez, Mexico, designed to serve increasing demand for OE quality brake pads from the North American aftermarket, improve efficiencies and deliver greater value than ever to OE Quality Friction customers.
"Our North American footprint is one of our greatest competitive advantages," said Steve Scharnhorst, President of OE Quality Friction. "While other companies are focused on cutting costs at the expense of product quality and ship times, we are demonstrating our commitment to making and selling the best OE quality brake pads in the North American marketplace today. This new facility allows us to bring new product to market more quickly, service our customers faster than ever and to continue to invest in developing the safest, most environmentally-responsible, highest performance brake pads on the market."
Online in April 2013, the Juarez plant features new tooling, and a redesigned production flow to increase manufacturing performance. In addition, the Juarez location allows for expedient shipping and accommodates OE Quality Friction's just-in-time distribution strategy by centralizing manufacturing in an area easily accessed by major highway arteries.
The Juarez Facility is in addition to the new Detroit office and existing Toronto location where functions including administrative, manufacturing, marketing, engineering, product management, sales, & customer service.
